IRVING, Texas, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods will make his 2012 debut next month with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo as his amateur partner, ESPN reported Tuesday.
Citing "a source" it did not identify, the broadcaster said Woods has settled on Romo to golf with him at the Feb. 9-12 Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which will be the former World No. 1's PGA Tour first competition this year.
The choice quashed speculation Denver Broncos signal-caller Tim Tebow would partner up with Woods in California.
Woods is known as a friend of Romo's, appearing with him in a private box at a 2009 U2 concert at Cowboys Stadium, ESPN said, noting the pair have played a pro-am round before at the 2009 AT&T National.
Romo played the Pebble Beach Pro-Am with John Daly in 2010 and 2011.
