SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval has signed a three-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The 25-year-old is coming off his best year with the Giants, hitting .315 with 23 home runs and 70 RBI.

The highlight of his season was hitting for the cycle in a Sept. 15 game against Colorado -- only the 10th time a Giant has done that since the team moved to San Francisco.

Sandoval is a .307 hitter with 114 doubles, 64 home runs and 247 RBI in four MLB seasons.
