GLENDALE, Ariz., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Shane Doan and Boyd Gordon each netted a pair of goals Monday, powering the Phoenix Coyotes' 6-1 rout of Colorado.

Doan scored his 13th and 14th goals consecutively 12 minutes apart, handing the Coyotes a 3-1 lead. Gordon got the next two scores to turn the contest into a runaway.

Gilbert Brule collected his first goal as a Coyote and added an assist, while Rostislav Klesla also scored as Phoenix won at home following three straight road losses.

Mike Smith turned aside 38-of-39 shots, including all 14 he saw in the second period, to earn the win.

Chuck Kobasew found the net and Semyon Varlamov made 27 saves for the Avalanche, who lost for the fourth time in five games.
