MEMPHIS, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose said his big toe was becoming a big irritant to him both mentally and physically as he sat out Monday's game in Memphis.
Rose was scratched from the lineup to give the strained digit a chance to heal, which he admitted was trying his patience.
"I'm kind of irritated," Rose said of his injury. "I want it to go away, but it always finds its way back."
"I'm only going to be here [Memphis] one time. For me to be hurt almost every time I come here is messed up."
The paying customers in Memphis, not to mention Bulls fans watching at home, saw a banged-up band of Chicagoans on the floor. The Chicago Tribune said Richard Hamilton sat out another game with a groin injury, while John Lucas III took over at the point due to C.J. Watson's bad elbow.
