
PHOENIX, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Deron Williams hit six 3-point shots and poured in 35 points Friday, propelling the New Jersey Nets to a 110-103 victory over Phoenix.
Williams scored the last of his points from the foul line with 42 seconds to give the Nets a seven-point lead after the Suns had closed to within three with 2 minutes remaining.
New Jersey snapped a three-game losing streak and won for just the third time this season. This was the second outing in a four-game road trip.
MarShon Brooks contributed 20 points for New Jersey and Anthony Morrow had 16.
Of the 80 shots New Jersey took in the game, 32 came from 3-point range. The Nets made 15 from beyond the arc.
Marcin Gortat led the Suns with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Phoenix played without both Steve Nash and Grant Hill due to injuries and lost its third in a row.
