Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

HONOLULU, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Jeff Maggert's round of 6-under-par 64 Saturday boosted him into a share of the lead with Matt Every after three rounds of the Sony Open in Hawaii.
Maggert, seeking his fourth PGA Tour title but first since 2006, matched Every at 12-under-par 198 after 54 holes.
Second-round leader Every posted a 2-under 68 at Waialae Country Club.
The pair finished two shots ahead of three players.
Johnson Wagner and Charles Howell III each registered matching rounds of 4-under 66, ending the day sharing third place with Brendon de Jonge (67) at minus-10.
Knotted in sixth at 9-under 201 were Duffy Waldorf (66) and D.A. Points (64).
