DALLAS, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki reached 23,000 points for his career Friday as part of a solid shooting performance that brought the Mavericks Dallas a 102-76 win over Milwaukee.
With the game in hand early, Nowitzki played only 22 minutes and scored 11 points -- seven below his average. He made 4-of-7 of his attempts and the Mavericks hit 52 percent from the field overall.
Nowitzki, the MVP of last season's championship series, is one of only three active players to have scored 23,000 points. He joins Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett in reaching that plateau.
Jason Terry had 17 points for the Mavericks, who won their fourth straight. Vince Carter had 16.
Milwaukee, which had won two in a row, played without Andrew Bogut. He suffered a concussion Thursday in a win over Detroit.
The Bucks were led by Brandon Jennings with 19 points and Shaun Livingston with 15.
