NHL: Nashville 4, Colorado 1

DENVER, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Martin Erat and Ryan Ellis each had a goal and an assist Tuesday in the Nashville Predators' 4-1 win over Colorado.

Nick Spaling and Patric Hornqvist scored and Pekka Rinne stopped 32 shots for the Predators, who are 5-1-0 in their last six games and ran their winning streak over the Avalanche to six games.

Nashville scored three times in the first period and Colorado was only able to muster a second-period score by Ryan O'Reilly.

Semyon Varlamov gave up four goals on 26 shots for the Avalanche, which lost their second straight following a four-game winning streak.
