NEW YORK, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Derek Stepan's goal in the sixth round of a shootout Tuesday gave the New York Rangers their fifth straight victory, a 2-1 win over Phoenix.
The Rangers, who have won 10 of their last 11 games, got 18 saves from Henrik Lundqvist, who ran his personal winning streak to a career-best seven straight games.
Ruslan Fedotenko scored the only regulation-time goal for New York.
Radim Vrbata scored and Mike Smith was 31-of-32 in goal for the Coyotes, who have three losses in their last four games.
