Citing sources whose names were not reported, WBAY-TV, Green Bay, and ESPN reported that a missing persons search along the icy Fox River in Oshkosh, Wis., yielded the body of 21-year-old Michael Philbin.
The Green Bay TV station reported the younger Philbin's body was pulled from the river around 3:30 p.m. Monday, more than a day after police received a report of someone yelling for help in the area.
Oshkosh Police said the identity of the person recovered from the river would be released Tuesday.
"The name of the person is not being released pending notification and wishes of the family," police said in a statement. "Foul play is not suspected, but the matter remains under investigation."
Packers head Coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday Joe Philbin wasn't with the team as it prepares to play the New York Giants in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Philbin family during this difficult time," Packers General Manager Ted Thompson said.
