TORONTO, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Joffrey Lupul's tie-breaking tally late in the third period provided the difference Saturday in the Toronto Maple Leafs' 4-3 win over Detroit.

Lupul collected the puck behind the Detroit net after a face-off, wheeled and sent a back-hander past Jimmy Howard 7 minutes into the final period for the go-ahead goal.
