SACRAMENTO, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Tyreke Evans made four free throws in the final 18 seconds and grabbed a key rebound Thursday, boosting the Sacramento Kings to a 103-100 win over Milwaukee.

The Kings rallied from nine points down at the start of the fourth quarter to post a victory in their first game under interim Coach Keith Smart, who took over when Sacramento fired Paul Westphal earlier in the day.

Sacramento trailed by as many as 19 points early in the third quarter to snap a two-game losing streak.

Evans hit two free throws with 18 seconds remaining to give the Kings a 101-100 lead and Evans then claimed a rebound when Milwaukee's Stephen Jackson missed a jumper with 6 seconds left. After being fouled by Brandon Jennings, Evans converted two more from the line with 3 seconds to play and Jennings missed an attempt to tie it from 3-point range.

Marcus Thornton scored 27 for the Kings and Evans had 26. DeMarcus Cousins, whose feud with Westphal was reportedly instrumental in the dismissal of the coach, had 19 points while making 8-of-18 from the field.

Milwaukee, losers of three straight, was led by Jennings with 31.
