Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

TORONTO, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- A season-best 24 points from Deron Williams Friday sent New Jersey to a big fourth-quarter lead and the Nets went on to down Toronto 97-85.
New Jersey won for the second time in eight games this season while snapping the Raptors' two-game winning streak.
The Nets led by as many as 22 points in the fourth quarter, pulling away after being in front by just three early in the third.
Anthony Morrow also had 24 points for the Nets and DeShawn Stevenson had 15, all of his points coming from 3-point range.
Toronto got 19 points from Jose Calderon and 17 from Andrea Bargnani. New Jersey made 15-of-31 3-pointers.
