NBA: Dallas 100, Oklahoma City 87

DALLAS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki poured in 26 points Monday and the Dallas Mavericks handed Oklahoma City its first loss of the season, beating the Thunder 100-87.

Shawn Marion contributed 17 points and Jason Terry chipped in with 15 as the NBA champs tapped their deep bench to win for only the second time in six games starting the season.

Vince Carter added 14 points and fellow reserve Ian Mahinmi scored 10 for the Mavs.

The Thunder, who fell to 5-1, were paced by Kevin Durant's 27 points while Russell Westbrook struggled from the field, going 8-of-20 en route to 18 points.
