Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Hakim Warrick led six Phoenix players in double figures Friday, boosting the Suns to a 93-78 win over New Orleans.
Phoenix won for the first time in three tries, holding the Hornets scoreless during a 5-minute span of the third quarter while expanding on a seven-point halftime lead.
Warrick scored 18 points, Jared Dudley had 16 and Marcin Gortat contributed 12. Steve Nash had 12 assists after producing just one in the Suns' loss to Philadelphia Wednesday.
New Orleans suffered its first loss after opening the season with two victories.
Carl Landry led New Orleans with 17 points. The Hornets made just 28 percent of their 90 shots from the field.
