NBA: Miami 103, Minnesota 101

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Dwyane Wade hit his second winning shot in as many games Friday, scoring on a layup with 4 seconds left to give the Miami Heat a 103-101 victory over Minnesota.

The Heat improved to 4-0, surviving their second straight thrilling duel while keeping the Timberwolves winless in three games.

Wade hit a jump shot with 2.9 seconds remaining Wednesday in Miami's 96-95 victory over Charlotte.

This time he took an inbounds pass from LeBron James that floated all the way to the rim. Wade grabbed it and laid it in for the two-point lead.

Miami then survived a miss from 3-point range by Wayne Ellington at the buzzer.

James, celebrating his 27th birthday, scored 34 points and Wade had 19. Chris Bosh contributed 20 for the Heat, who forced 25 turnovers.

Minnesota rookie Ricky Rubio had 12 assists to go with his 12 points. The Timberwolves were paced by Kevin Love with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
