
SACRAMENTO, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose scored 19 points and dealt out eight assists Thursday in sending the Chicago Bulls to a 108-98 triumph over Sacramento.
The Bulls won for the second time in three games, fighting off a second-half charge by the Kings.
Chicago led by as many as 15 points in the first half, but Sacramento closed within a single point with 4:30 left in the third quarter. The Bulls then closed the period with an 11-2 run and the Kings came no closer than seven during the final 12 minutes.
Richard Hamilton and Carlos Boozer both had 16 for the Bulls, who shot 53 percent from the field. Sacramento hit only 42 percent of its shots and missed 14 of its attempts from the foul line.
The Kings were led by Marcus Thornton with 20 points.
