Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24


CHICAGO, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- The Chicago White Sox announced Thursday they had reached an agreement with pitcher John Danks on a five-year, $65 million contract.
Danks has spent his entire five-year career with the White Sox, during which he has started 150 games. He has a 54-56 career record with a 4.03 ERA.
During the 2011 season Danks went 8-12 with a 4.33 ERA in 27 starts. He threw two complete games while striking out 135 and walking 46 in 170 1/3 innings.
