CHICAGO, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Jonathan Quick made 38 saves to record his NHL-leading fifth shutout of the season Wednesday, lifting the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-0 win over Chicago.

Quick came into the game tied for the league shutout lead with Tim Thomas of Boston and Brian Elliott of St. Louis.

The Blackhawks -- who came into the game with the most goals in the league this season, 122 -- were blanked for the first time since Nov. 23.

Trent Hunter put the Kings in front with 7:53 to go in the second period and Jarret Stoll scored 1:16 into the third.

Corey Crawford stopped 36 shots for the Blackhawks, who lost for just the second time in nine games. The Kings have won two in a row.
