CHICAGO, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bears placed quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte on the injured reserve list and neither will play in the Vikings game Sunday.

Cutler finished the season completing 182-of-314 passes for 2,319 yards and 13 touchdowns with seven interceptions. His 85.7 passer rating was the best in Bears team history, but a fractured thumb ended his season in late November.

Forte had 997 yards on 203 carries with three running touchdowns and led the team in receptions with 52. The Bears (7-8) lost five straight games after losing their starters and play the Minnesota Vikings Sunday at Mall of America Field.

Cutler and Forte Tuesday joined wide receiver Johnny Knox, offensive tackle Gabe Carimi and guard Chris Williams on the injured reserve list, the Chicago Tribune said.

The team activated defensive tackle Jordan Miller, an undrafted rookie from Southern University, from the practice squad and signed guard Mansfield Wrotto.
