NHL: Vancouver 5, Edmonton 3

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Andrew Ebbett notched a pair of goals Monday and the Vancouver Canucks surged into the lead of the Northwest Division with a 5-3 win over Edmonton.

Alex Burrows and Ryan Kesler each added a goal and an assist for Vancouver, which won for the 13th time in 17 games and leapfrogged slumping Minnesota into first place in the division.

Daniel Sedin also scored and Roberto Luongo turned aside 18-of-21 shots to collect the victory.

Jordan Eberle, Ryan Smyth and Corey Potter scored for the last-place Oilers, who lost for the ninth time in 11 road games.

Nikolai Khabibulin made 21 saves for Edmonton.
