ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Dwight Howard scored 21 points and J.J. Redick added 20 Monday, sparking the Orlando Magic's 104-95 decision over Houston in the season opener for the Rockets.

Howard grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots.

Two of Redick's 20 points came on a spectacular, twisting layup in the third quarter that sparked a decisive Magic run, and Hedo Turkoglu chipped in with 23 points as Orlando moved to 1-1 following its loss to Oklahoma City Sunday.

Houston was led by Kyle Lowry with 20 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds, while Luis Scola chipped in with 19 points and seven boards.
