Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Ryane Clowe's goal in the fourth round of the shootout Friday handed the San Jose Sharks a 2-1 win over Los Angeles.
Clowe came in from the right, faked a shot and then cut left before sending a wrister past Jonathan Quick. Antti Niemi's save on Mike Richards shootout try sealed the Sharks' fourth straight win.
Niemi made 28 saves and Logan Couture scored for San Jose in regulation.
Richards scored on the power play and Quick finished 34-of-35 in goal for the Kings, who have three wins in their last five games.
