NHL: Colorado 2, Tampa Bay 1 (OT)

DENVER, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Matt Duchene scored with 1:22 to go in overtime Friday, lifting the Colorado Avalanche to a 2-1 victory over Tampa Bay.

Duchene's goal ended 33 minutes of scoreless hockey and gave the Avalanche their fourth straight win. Tampa Bay has dropped two in a row.

The Lightning took the lead on Pavel Kubina's second goal of the season with 1:51 to play in the opening period. Ryan O'Reilly tied it 10:03 into the second.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who has a 1.87 goals-against average this season -- among the top five in the NHL -- made 29 saves to get the victory. Mathieu Garon stopped 27-of-29 shots.
