DALLAS, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Three-point field goal specialist Peja Stojakovic, a 13-year NBA veteran, said Monday he is retiring from the Dallas Mavericks.

Stojakovic, 34, is the fourth-most prolific long-range shooter in league history with 1,760 career treys, trailing only Ray Allen, Reggie Miller and Jason Kidd on the all-time list.

His free-throw shooting is also among the best in NBA history. Stojakovic bows out with a career .8948 percentage, also fourth-best in league annals.

He used his 3-point skills during the Mavericks' run to the NBA title last season, going 6-for-6 from long range in the decisive game of the Western Conference semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Croatian posted at least 19.2 points per game for five straight seasons while a member of the Sacramento Kings from 2000-05.

"Thank you everyone for all the love, I knew it was time and had such a great time. NBA is my love and it will be always," Stojakovic wrote on his Twitter page.
