Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
OTTAWA, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Jason Spezza put Ottawa in front for good in the second period and scored twice Friday, lifting the Senators to a 6-4 win over Pittsburgh.
After a scoreless first period, the teams combined for eight goals in the second during an offensive explosion that forced Pittsburgh goaltender Brent Johnson to the bench.
Spezza gave the Senators a 2-1 lead 2:04 into the second period, and when Zenon Konopka scored with 6 seconds remaining in the stanza, the Senators had built a 5-3 lead.
Spezza's second goal of the game, and 13th of the season, came midway through the third to make it 6-3.
Johnson allowed five goals on 19 shots and was replaced by Marc-Andre Fleury, who surrendered Spezza's second score.
Alex Auld gave up four goals on 36 shots, but that was still good enough to pick up his first victory of the season.
