MEMPHIS, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- The Memphis Grizzlies confirmed Wednesday they have signed center Marc Gasol to a multi-year deal.
The 7-foot-1 Gasol broke the news Monday on his Twitter account, and Memphis General Manager Chris Wallace made it official Wednesday, calling him "one of the pillars of the Grizzlies franchise since his arrival and a true 'Memphis basketball player' ever since his days at Lausanne."
The terms of the deal weren't announced but The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal reported the contract calls for four years at nearly $58 million.
Gasol, 29, put up averages of 15 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2.15 blocks per game over 13 post-season contests last year, including a first-round Memphis upset over No. 1 seed San Antonio.
He has played his entire three-year career with the Grizzlies.
