DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Alvaro Quiros maintained the lead at the European Tour's Dubai World Championship Saturday while Luke Donald moved in on a historic golf double.
Quiros, despite four bogeys, shot 2-under-par 70 Saturday and is at 14-under 202 after 54 holes. He's two strokes ahead of Paul Lawrie, whose 18th-hole eagle gave him a 6-under 66 Saturday.
Louis Oosthuizen, who had an eagle on the seventh hole, also shot a third-round 66 and is in third place at 11-under.
Donald had six birdies and no bogeys for a 66 that pulled him into fourth place, four strokes behind Quiros.
If Donald finishes at least ninth at Dubai he's assured of finishing the year atop the European Tour's money list. With the PGA Tour money title in hand, Donald would be the first to lead both tours in winnings in the same year.
The only player who can catch him in Dubai is Rory McIlroy, who has to win Sunday to do so. McIlroy shot one-under 71 Saturday and is six strokes back of Quiros.
Quiros opened with a bogey but got the stroke back the second hole with his third consecutive birdie there. He also had a bogey at the fourth hole.
After a birdie at No. 6 got him back to even, Quiros eagled the 572-yard, par-5 seventh. He dropped another stroke at 10 but had birdies at 11 and 15.
An 18th-hole bogey -- he had a bogey on the hole Thursday and an eagle Friday -- left him at 2-under for the day.
