NHL: Detroit 7, Winnipeg 1

DETROIT, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Jiri Hudler scored twice Saturday and the Detroit Red Wings notched their ninth straight home win with a 7-1 rout of Winnipeg.

Todd Bertuzzi, Valtteri Filppula and Herik Zetterberg each added a goal and an assist for the Wings, who improved to an NHL-best 12-2-1 in their home arena.

Chris Connor and Drew Miller also scored, and Jimmy Howard stopped 29-of-30 shots in the victory.

Winnipeg, meanwhile, saw its season-best four-game winning streak come crashing to an end.

Brian Little got the only goal for the Jets.

Winnipeg goalie Ondrej Pavelec was pulled in the third period after allowing seven goals on 26 shots.

Chris Mason turned away three shots the rest of the way.
