WILMINGTON, Del., Dec. 9 (UPI) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge ruled the Los Angeles Dodgers can sell their television rights, a decision Fox Sports has vowed to appeal.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Gross ruled Thursday the team can sell the television rights despite its current contract with Fox to prevent negotiations with other broadcast outlets until Nov. 30, 2012, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

Fox argued moving up the date would alter the contract in a way that constitutes irreparable harm.

"I am satisfied the proposed modifications are not material," Gross said. "That, to me, is the key."

Fox has vowed to appeal the decision.

Gross said his ruling was in the best interest of the Dodgers and the team's creditors.
