MIAMI, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Pitcher Mark Buehrle has agreed to a four-year contract with the Miami Marlins, the latest in a series of free-agent signings by the National League team.

Buehrle, a 32-year-old left-hander, agreed to join the Marlins and former Manager Ozzie Guillen for a reported $58 million. Buehrle played the last 12 seasons with the Chicago White Sox. Guillen managed the team for the past eight years.

The agreement was announced earlier in the week but made formal Friday, the team said.

Buehrle is 161-119 over his 12 major-league seasons, with a 3.83 earned run average. His career is marked with a pair of no-hitters, beating the Texas Rangers in April 2007 and throwing a perfect game against the Tampa Bay Rays in July 2009.

He's a four-time All-Star team selection and has won Gold Gloves the last three seasons. He was 13-9 with a 3.59 ERA in 2011.

The Marlins, who changed their name from the Florida Marlins and are moving into a new stadium this season, recently signed free agents Jose Reyes, a shortstop, and Heath Bell, a relief pitcher.

They were also active in trying to acquire first baseman Albert Pujols and pitcher C.J. Wilson, both of whom said Thursday they were joining the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
