NEWARK, N.J., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Adam Henrique scored the last of New Jersey's three straight shootout goals Thursday, bringing the Devils a 5-4 victory over Ottawa.

Henrique lifted a backhander over Alex Auld in the fourth round and Johan Hedberg then stopped a low shot from David Rundblad to clinch the win.

Hedberg made 18 saves overall after coming on to replace Martin Brodeur, who gave up two goals on nine shots in the opening stanza.

New Jersey faced a 3-0 deficit midway through the second period, but ran off four straight goals to take the lead.

The fourth goal came from Ilya Kovalchuk with 15 seconds to go in regulation, but Jesse Winchester scored shorthanded for the Senators in the final 5 seconds to tie it.

Auld stopped 27 shots while taking the loss, the fourth in five games for the Senators.
