VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Daniel Sedin scored a hat trick that turned out to be more than enough to give the Vancouver Canucks a 6-0 win over Colorado.
Roberto Luongo and Corey Schneider combined to stop 33 shots for the shutout and the Canucks' seventh win in their last eight tries. Luongo departed after being hit in the neck by a slap shot off the stick of Matt Duchene.
Jannik Hansen scored twice and Alexander Edler added a goal and an assist for the Canucks. Henrik Sedin tallied assists on all three of his brother's three goals.
Semyon Varlamov gave up all six goals on 21 shots for Colorado, who had their three-game winning streak snuffed out. He was lifted for Jean-Sebastian Giguere in the third period.
Vancouver scored four times in the third period, when the two teams combined for 14 penalties.
