NHL: Detroit 4, Tampa Bay 2

DETROIT, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Tomas Holmstrom and Darren Helm scored third-period goals Wednesday, propelling the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-2 victory over Tampa Bay.

The Red Wings won their sixth straight, breaking open a 2-2 tie after two periods.

Holmstrom scored on a tip-in 4:22 into the final period while Eric Brewer was in the penalty box for hooking. Helm's insurance goal came with 6:46 remaining.

Detroit took a 2-0 lead after one period on goals from Pavel Datsyuk and Jonathan Ericsson. It was the first goal of the season for Ericsson and the 10th of his 186-game NHL career.

The Lightning tied it in the second period with Martin St. Louis and Steven Stamkos getting the goals. Stamkos has 16 goals, tying him with Toronto's Phil Kessel for the league lead.

Jimmy Howard, who has been in goal for all the wins in the current Detroit streak, made 21 saves. The loss went to Dwayne Roloson, who stopped 31 shots.
