Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
NEW YORK, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Marion Gaborik capped a string of four straight second-period goals for New York Tuesday, boosting the Rangers to a 4-3 win over Pittsburgh.
Gaborik's power-play tally came after Ryan Callahan, John Mitchell and Brad Richards had scored to give the Rangers a 3-1 lead -- and proved to be the game-winner.
Richards added a pair of assists to finish with three points while Gaborik and Callahan also handed out assists for the Rangers, who stretched their home winning streak to seven games -- their longest consecutive victory run at Madison Square Garden since 1990-91.
Henrik Lundqvist finished with 24 saves to earn the win.
James Neal and Evgeni Malkin scored for the Penguins and Pascal Dupuis scored early in the third period, pulling Pittsburgh to within a goal, but that was as close as they could come.
Marc-Andre Fleury turned aside 26-of-30 shots for the Pens, who lost for the first time in five games.
