Johnson, Watney up in world golf rankings

VIRGINIA WATER, England, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Dustin Johnson and Nick Watney each moved up one spot in the men's world golf rankings, which were updated Monday.

Johnson moved ahead of Steve Stricker for fifth in the rankings and Watney edged past Matt Kuchar into 10th as the 2011 golf year winds down.

Kuchar's drop out of the Top 10 came despite his victory, along with Gary Woodland, at the World Cup of Golf Sunday in China.

Luke Donald is solidly No. 1, having amassed a rankings points average of 10.222. Rory McIlroy is second at 7.480 and Lee Westwood, who finished 2010 at No. 1, remains third at 7.351.

Martin Kaymer is fourth with an average of 6.910 and Johnson's mark of 5.688 is just better than Stricker's 5,685. Adam Scott (5.598) comes in seventh with Jason Day (5.413) in eighth and Webb Simpson (5.176) in the ninth spot.

Watney has an average of 4.967, knocking Kuchar (4.961) to 11th.

Hennie Otto won the European Tour's South African Open and jumps from 226th to No. 122 in the world.
