ANDOVER, Mass., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- A summer basketball camp has been kicked off a private college campus in Massachusetts after two high school players were allegedly hazed in a sex game.
Stonehill College in Easton ousted the overnight Hoop Mountain Basketball Camp as police investigate the alleged hazing involving students from Andover High School, The (Lawrence) Eagle-Tribune reported Monday.
The newspaper, citing a source, said two Andover underclassmen on the basketball team were pressured into playing a sex game called "wet biscuit" in a dorm room in July. The loser had to eat an Oreo cookie covered with a bodily fluid.
The privately run Hoop Mountain camp was kicked off the Catholic college's campus last Tuesday, a few days after the allegations surfaced, the Eagle-Tribune said.
Easton Police and Stonehill College said in a joint statement Monday Hoop Mountain was being removed from campus "for its failure to meet its supervisory and safety obligations."
The Eagle-Tribune said nine members of the basketball team were attending the camp when the hazing allegedly occurred.
Andover and Easton police departments were investigating.
Andover High officials have refused to comment on the incident but said in a statement on the school's Web site Wednesday an investigation was "nearly completed."
Andover varsity basketball Coach David Fazio was not available for comment but his attorney, Michael Morris, said Fazio had been informed Nov. 11 of the hazing allegations made by a player.
"Mr. Fazio acted promptly, compassionately, professionally, legally and morally by responding to the boy and his parents, some of the parents of other boys involved, to the Andover police and his superiors all at the first opportunity," Morris said.
Morris declined further comment.
