Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Sidney Crosby assisted on three of Pittsburgh's four first-period goals Friday and the quick start sent the Penguins to a 6-3 win over Ottawa.
Crosby played for the third time since being cleared for action. He had missed almost a full year on the ice due to concussion-related symptoms.
In his three games back, Crosby has piled up seven points -- five on assists.
After Kaspars Daugavins scored for Ottawa just 79 seconds into the contest, the Penguins ran off four goals in less than 8 minutes.
Crosby assisted on tallies by Chris Kunitz, Steve Sullivan and Evgeni Malkin. Tyler Kennedy, Pascal Dupuis and Jordan Staal also scored for the Penguins, with Staal reaching 11 goals for the season.
Marc-Andre Fleury made 24 saves to get the win.
Craig Anderson was removed from the Ottawa goal after giving up four scores on eight shots. The Senators finished a six-game road trip at 3-2-1.
