NFL to review Suh's stomp

GREEN BAY, Wis., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- NFL officials said the league will conduct a review of Detroit Lions player Ndamukong Suh's stomp to the arm of Green Bay Packers player Evan Dietrich-Smith.

An NFL spokesman said it's "a safe assumption" that officials will review the incident next week to consider potential disciplinary actions against Suh, who is seen on video pressing Dietrich-Smith's head into the turf three times while they were both on the ground before standing up and stomping on the rival player's right arm, the Detroit Free Press reported Friday.

Suh, who was penalized and ejected from the game, said "my intentions were not to kick anybody" and officials "misinterpreted" the incident.

"I was on top of a guy being pulled down and trying to get up off of the ground and why you see me pushing his helmet down (is) because I'm trying to remove my the situation and as I'm getting up I'm getting pushed so I'm getting myself on balance and getting out of the situation," Suh said. "With that, a lot of people are going to interpret it as, create their own storylines for seeing what they want to interpret it. But I know what I did and the man upstairs knows what I did."

Officials said Suh likely will face a fine and could also face a suspension overt the incident.
