DALLAS, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Steve Ott scored the game-winning goal Monday and the Dallas Stars snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over Edmonton.

New owner Tom Gaglardi was introduced to the team before the contest, and gave the Stars a pep talk. The squad responded with its best game since a 5-2 win over Washington Nov. 8.

Ott's third tally of the year 8:58 into the second period gave the Stars a 2-0 lead.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' score cut the Stars' lead to one with 4:36 left in the middle frame, but Michael Ryder restored the two-goal cushion with a tally only 1:10 minutes later.

Toby Petersen also scored, Radek Dvorak added an empty-netter and Kari Lehtonen turned aside 17-of-18 shots to earn the win.

Nikolai Khabibulin made 31 saves for the Oilers.
