VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Chris Higgins scored 2:18 into overtime Sunday, handing the Vancouver Canucks a 2-1 victory over Ottawa.

Higgins deflected a bouncing shot from Dan Hamhuis past the blocker of Senators goalie Alex Auld and into the net, lifting the Canucks over .500 (10-9-1) with their second win in three games.

Henrik Sedin scored the Canucks' other goal and Cory Schneider turned aside 28-of-29 shots to earn the win.

Colin Greening notched the only goal for the Senators, who wrapped up a five-game road trip with a 3-1-1 mark.

Auld finished with 25 saves for Ottawa.
