
EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Taylor Hall notched a hat trick and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins added five assists Saturday, powering the Edmonton Oilers' 9-2 rout of Chicago.
Tom Gilbert and Jordan Eberle each had a goal and three assists as the Oilers snapped a four-game losing streak in resounding fashion, scoring nine or more goals in a game for the first time since 1996.
The Oilers collected five goals in the first period and cruised the rest of way.
Nikolai Khabibulin earned the victory with 33 saves against the Western Conference-leading Blackhawks.
Dave Bolland and Patrick Sharp scored for Chicago.
Ray Emery began the game and surrendered seven goals on 27 shots before being replaced by Corey Crawford, who yielded two goals on seven shots for the Hawks.
