ANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Brad Stuart scored the eventual game-winning goal and added an empty-netter Sunday in the Detroit Red Wings' 4-2 victory over Anaheim.
The Red Wings skated to a 2-0 lead on a first-period tally by Henrik Zetterberg and marker from Johan Franzen -- his 10th of the year -- 14 seconds into the middle frame.
Stuart made it 3-0 seven minutes later when he unleashed a wrist shot from the right circle as Todd Bertuzzi screened Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller.
Anaheim came back with goals from Saku Koivu and Teemu Selanne later in the second period, but Stuart sealed the win with an empty-net goal as time ran out in the third.
Jimmy Howard turned aside 32-of-34 shots to earn the victory, the second in two nights for Detroit after beating Los Angeles 4-2 Saturday.
Hiller finished with 26 saves for the Ducks.
