Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NASHVILLE, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Defenseman James Wisniewski's goal 2:43 into overtime Saturday handed the Columbus Blue Jackets a 4-3 victory over Nashville.
Wisniewski got the puck after Antoine Vermette won a draw, skated to the left of Predators goalie Pekka Rinne and fired a low slap shot that beat the netminder to the far side.
Also scoring for Columbus were Jeff Carter, R.J. Umberger, and Vinny Prospal while Rick Nash added a pair of assists.
The Blue Jackets collected their first road win of the season thanks in part to 27 saves from Curtis Sanford.
Nashville got goals from Colin Wilson, Mike Fisher and Nick Spaling while Rinne finished with 25 saves.
