NHL: Detroit 4, Los Angeles 1

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk netted a pair of goals and Jimmy Howard made 23 saves Saturday in the Detroit Red Wings' 4-1 win over Los Angeles.

Datsyuk's first goal on a power play came only 37 seconds after Mike Richards' short-handed tally had given the Kings a 1-0 lead early in the first period.

His second was an empty-netter that sealed the Wings' first road win in six contests.

Niklas Kronwall and Justin Abdelkader added tallies and Howard turned aside nine Kings shots in the final period.

Jonathan Quick finished with the 34 saves for Los Angeles, which saw its three-game winning streak snapped.
