Kruger up by 4 at Dunhill Championship

MALELANE, South Africa, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Jbe Kruger used a 5-under-par 67 Friday to build a four-stroke lead halfway through the European Tour's Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.

Kruger is at 13-under 131 after 36 holes. Seve Benson, who was tied with Kruger for the lead after the first round, shot 1-under 71 and is tied with Felipe Aguilar and George Murray (68) for second at 9-under. Merrick Bremner and Jaco Van Zyl, who also shot 68, are in fifth at 8-under.

Aguilar shot a bogey-free 8-under 64 in pulling into the tie for second.

Kruger had an eagle at the par-5, 514-yard second hole but had consecutive bogeys at 3 and 4. He got back on track with a birdie at the sixth hole.

Kruger posted three consecutive birdies over Nos. 12-14 and finished with a birdie at 18, a hole he eagled Thursday.
