ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Na Yeon Choi shot a 6-under-par 66 Thursday that put her one shot in front after one round of the LPGA Tour's season ending Titleholders event in Orlando.
Choi has finished among the top three in each of her last four starts and won her fifth tour title last month.
Morgan Pressel and Karrie Webb both shot a 67, while Cristie Kerr and Maria Hjorth were at 68. Kerr is ranked third in the world, but she has yet to win this year. She needs a victory this week to avoid her first winless season since 2003.
Yani Tseng, who has surged to the top spot in the world rankings thanks to 11 victories this year, was tied for 13th after shooting a 70. She had to birdie three of her final five holes to overcome a slow start.
Tseng received her second straight player of the year trophy at the tour's awards dinner Thursday.
Choi made five birdies on the back nine of the Grand Cypress Resort course.
