Detroit came up with a goal in each period, getting scores from Drew Miller in the first, Niklas Kronwall in the second and Valtteri Filppula in the third.

Nikolai Khabibulin took the loss, stopping 27-of-30 shots. Edmonton has dropped three out of four and has lost six consecutive meetings with the Red Wings.
