CALGARY, Alberta, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Niklas Backstrom returned to the ice Tuesday and stopped 41 shots to lead the Minnesota Wild to a 3-0 road win over Calgary.

Backstrom -- making his first start since Oct. 27 -- helped the Wild to their fifth straight win, their longest winning streak since 2009. Josh Harding was in goal for four wins in Backstrom's absence.

Dany Heatley, Guillaume Latendresse and Darroll Powe scored for Minnesota. Heatley also earned an assist on Latendresse's empty net goal at the end of the game.

Miikka Kiprusoff made 23 saves for the Flames, who have lost three of their last five.

Calgary managed 26 shots on goal and was 0-for-7 on the power play.
