Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
COLUMBIA, S.C., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. must perform 40 hours of community service for not providing a deposition in a lawsuit, a judge in South Carolina ordered.
U.S. District Judge Joseph F. Anderson Jr. issued the order in a copyright infringement case filed by music producer Lawrence Dash, The (Columbia) State reported Monday.
Dash alleges a rhythmic music sample he created called the Tony Gunz beat was unlawfully used by Mayweather at two World Wrestling Entertainment events.
As part of the events, Mayweather played a song called "YEP" that Dash alleges infringed on the Tony Gunz beat.
The lawsuit was filed in 2010 but so far Mayweather has not been deposed.
An initial date of July 11 was rescheduled for Sept. 29 to accommodate Mayweather's training schedule but on Sept. 26 Mayweather said he would not be able to attend due to injuries he suffered during a boxing match.
